~ Kym Marsh Visits Gosh To Open New Miffy Ward - Sept 2004 ~

Kym Marsh, star of the new West End show, Saturday Night Fever, took time out of her busy schedule to open Great Ormond Street Hospital’s new Miffy Ward today, Wednesday 1 September 2004.

The ward hosted a very special party for the kids and families of the ward, with stars Kym Marsh and the Miffy bunny.

Miffy, the lovable little white bunny created by Dick Bruna, has been chosen to theme the ward which houses the refurbished Transitional Care Unit (TCU), because of her simple design, bright colours and innocent charm.

Using Miffy soft furnishings, bedding and nursery equipment plus a range of the latest Miffy books and toys, the Transitional Care Unit has now been transformed into a bright cheerful ward. The friendly and inviting atmosphere should help the patients and their families to relax as they come to terms with managing machinery which will allow them to return home to live.
