'Michelle and Steve would be good together.'Kym Ryder reveals all as she makes her return to the Corrie cobbles.
Tell us about Michelle
I love her, she’s absolutely fabulous. She’s feisty, she’s fun, she’s got a great sense of humour and she’s a little bit flirtatious – and she’s not fussy who she’s flirtatious with! But everyone flirts back with her, she’s a likeable character. At the moment, there’s only one person who doesn’t like Michelle and that’s Liz.
And, she’s quite unlucky-in-love, or has been certainly, she hasn’t found Mr Right. She has a son, who she had when she was probably 15. He’s called Ryan, he’s 14.
Who would you like to see Michelle hook up with?
Her and Steve would be good together, because they’ve got a lot in common. They’d both like to settle down if they found the right person, and they’re both quite funny, both have children. That would be quite nice – you never know what’s going to happen!
How does Michelle get on with her brothers Liam and Paul?
She loves her brothers, they’re great. They’re very protective towards her. She’s very much the little sister, they obviously want to look after her and they’re great with their nephew. They get on well and are quite jokey with each other and sarcastic but there’s a mutual respect there.
… and with Vernon?
She’s alright with Vernon – but she finds him a bit letchy!
What kind of mum is she going to be? Is she fun or more protective?
A bit of both. She‘s certainly protective – probably over protective, if she’s anything like me anyway. But, she has a fun relationship with her son. There’s obviously not that much of an age gap between them.
Are you happy about returning with a family, not just on your own?
When I found out I was getting a family, I was thrilled to bits! It’s nice because you’re not the only new person and going in on your own. And you know there’s going to be a lot of relationship stuff, which is nice.Thereare going to be some good storylines to come!
Can you see her staying on the Street for a long time?
There areso many places you could take Michelle. She’s got so much longevity to her and I’d love to be involved with the show for a long time. I absolutely love every bit of it, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
