24 Hours in the life of Kym Marsh
Kym, 28, lives in Hertfordshire with her husband Jack Ryder, and her children David, nine
and Emily, six. She is appearing in Saturday Night Fever on the west end stage.
Did you sleep well last night?
I didn’t, actually. I just kept waking up every couple of hours, looking at my clock, and I felt
all hot and bothered.
Who were you with at midnight?
I was in bed with jack
Who was the first person you spoke to this morning?
If were talking about 4 o’clock this morning, then it was my daughter. She just wanted a
cuddle – she'd had a bad dream.
What did you dream about last night?
That both my kids had a tummy bug. They were both throwing up at the same time. It was
horrible and I was just sitting there going “it must have been something we ate”.
What was the first thought that came into your head this morning?
“look at the time – I have to get up” it was just before seven o’clock, but to be honest I
was glad it was morning after the night id had. I could at least get up and make a cup of
tea.
What was the best meal you had today?
Jack made spaghetti Bolognese for us last night. It was really good and we all sat down to
eat as a family.
What was the most expensive thing you bought today?
I haven’t bought anything in the past 24-hours – my accountant will be pleased to hear.
What made you laugh the most today?
I had a good laugh yesterday on a photo shoot. I had quite a short dress on and I was
aware that my bottom was showing. Everybody thought it was hilarious.
What do you regret most about today?
Not having my breakfast. Ive been eating grapes all morning. I tend to have a bowl of
cereal because it keeps me going till lunchtime. I haven’t had time for that this morning,
but hey, it will be good for the diet.
What are you most proud about today?
I was very proud of my son this morning. He’d written a little poem about how important
the world is and it was really good.
What is the most annoying thing anyone has said or done to you today?
Well, my driver was a bit grumpy this morning. He didn’t speak to me at all on the way in
to London.
What song can you not get out of your head at the moment?
If I Cant Have You – the one im singing in Saturday Night Fever, the music is fantastic.
What appointments did you make and write in your diary today?
My brothers wedding, were all going up north and my daughter is a bridesmaid – I cant
wait. Hes marrying a lovely girl.
Have you done any exercise today?
Not yet. I plan to go to the gym later and I like to go swimming afterwards for about an
hour.
What have you done to relax today?
I was feeling very stressed when I got in from work last night so I had a nice glass of red
wine, put my feet up and watched telly.
What have you been reading today?
Im in the middle of reading a Patricia Cornwell novel, Blow Fly, she always keeps you on the
edge of your seat.
What is the most domestic thing you’ve done today?
Getting my kids ready to go off to school.
Did you meet anyone interesting today?
Ive just had an interview with a journalist who I met earlier in the year. I discovered that
shes pregnant so we had a nice chat about babies.
How long did you spend getting ready this morning?
About an hour altogether, between getting the kids off to school and feeding the dog.
What did you wear today?
A black halterneck top, some Diesel jeans, which are faded, ripped ones, a pair of black
boots and a cardigan
What are you least looking forward to about today?
I got so many chores to do when I get home, and im doing the show tonight so I wont get
back till quite late. Im not looking forward to that.
What time will you probably be in bed tonight?
Ill get home about 11:30pm but I wouldn’t be able to sleep even if I did go straight to bed.
